Auto Show Swag (Trade?)

As the minor production auto shows run their course, the ones with no spectacular concepts or un-veilings, the ones that are basically just a bunch of cars already on sale at your local dealership, I'm wondering if anyone managed to pick up some cool swag. It used to be you could get something cool from pretty much every manufacturer's display, but this year at the Portland Auto Show there was almost nothing. The normally best places: VW and MINI had nada. In fact, Nissan didn't even have brochures ! They did have a GT-R with its doors locked so no one could sit in it (thrilling!). The one cool-ish thing my son and I picked up was from Scion:

It's a "pull-back" racer for the FR-S. I love the FR-S and it was one of the reasons we hit up the Scion booth — to see if my 6 year old son could fit in the backseat (He couldn't because he has legs. Damn.). Anyway we grabbed a couple of these.

Was your auto show any better? What did you get? And since I have a couple extra of the Scions I'll certainly consider trading them.

Scion gave out Chapstick at my auto show. I've already used it but I'll gladly trade it for one if those! :P

Scion-branded chapstick? Yeah, that's the definition of disappointing swag.

Yeah.... But on the bright side I actually really needed it a few days ago and it worked very well!

Scion gave out paper models, 1GB doge tag style metal flash drives, and random things out of their "Swag Machine" (hats, the same toy car you have, dubstep CDs, etc) at the Chicago Auto Show.

They also had multiple giveaways for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 devices.

Ford had messenger bags, a colossal stuffed animal giveaway, and free Revell 2015 Ford Mustang model cars for kids 11 and under.

smart (which usually always has cool swag for owners and media) had nothing.

VW had insulated messenger bags with zipper closure.

BMW gave away free snacks to those with Media Credentials.

Subaru gave free lunches (good, 4-5 star restaurant style food) to those with Subaru Media Credentials.

5/3rd Bank gave away 12V USB device chargers and sunglasses.

And Toyota had odd photo ops...
